Care and repair
How to take care of your shoes
Cleaning
Washing instructions
Step 1: Prepare the shoes
Remove the footbed before cleaning.
Step 2: Sponge and water
Clean Haglöfs footwear using a soft sponge under lukewarm running water, then wipe dry with a cloth.
Step 3: Inside
For optimal comfort and moisture management, periodically clean the inside using a soft brush and lukewarm water.
Drying instructions
Step 1: Fill with newspaper
To speed up drying, loosely fill each shoe or boot with newspaper to draw out the bulk of the moisture, replacing the paper as needed, then remove it and allow the footwear to finish air-drying at room temperature.
Step 2: Let it air dry
Always dry footwear at room temperature — never on heaters or in drying cabinets — as excessive heat can damage materials, especially leather.
Step 3: Store it
Store clean footwear at room temperature with a shoe tree, and avoid storing dirty shoes.

Full grain leather
Maintain you full grain leather shoes
Step 1: Apply wax
Before first use, apply a thin layer of shoe wax (remove laces beforehand).
Step 2: Maintin the leather
Maintain the leather regularly with small amounts of wax — never oil-based grease — working it into the surface by hand or with a soft cloth.
Wax treatment enhances water resistance while keeping the leather supple and durable.

Nubuck & suede
How to take care of nubuck & suede
Step 1: Apply waterproofing
Before first use, treat the entire boot or shoe — including tongue and laces — with a waterproofing product.
Step 2: Brush
After drying, restore the texture with a suede brush.
Step 3: Brush as needed
Use the brush as needed for light cleaning.
Step 4: Reapply waterproofing
Reapply waterproofing regularly; some agents absorb more effectively when the leather is slightly damp, as moisture helps open the pores (always follow the product instructions).
Step 5: Wax
Wax treatments can offer additional protection against moisture and abrasion, though they will darken the material — this is normal.

Textile & synthetic
Protect textile &synthetic shoes
Step 1: Correct products
Many types of waxes and waterproofing treatments are available, each suited to different footwear materials and conditions. Consult your retailer for recommendations tailored to your specific shoe model.
Step 2: Waterproofing
Before initial use, apply waterproofing to the entire shoe, including tongue and laces. Clean and retreat regularly using products specifically designed for synthetic materials to maintain performance.
Tip:
Wear pure wool or wool-blend socks for optimal foot climate. These materials wick moisture far more effectively than cotton, reducing dampness, chafing, and cold feet.
