Sleeping bags
Care and Repair
How to take care of your sleeping bag
DOWN
Washing instructions
Step 1: Prepare
Machine wash at 40°C, ensuring all zippers are fully closed.
Step 2: Add detergent
Use a down-specific detergent (soap-based) or a small amount — about one-third of the normal dose — of mild liquid detergent. Do not use fabric softener.
Step 3: Run rinse cycles
After washing, run 3–5 additional rinse cycles to remove all detergent residue. For hand washing, use a bathtub and rinse thoroughly multiple times.
Drying instructions
Step 1: Spin-dry
Before tumble drying, spin-dry the sleeping bag to remove excess water.
Step 2: Tumble dry
Tumble dry on low heat with two or three clean tennis balls until completely dry — this may take several hours.
Step 3: Break up clumps
Periodically pause the cycle to break up any clumps and restore loft by hand.
Step 4: Air dry
After tumble drying, allow the sleeping bag to air dry for one to two days.
Tip:
If using professional cleaning, ensure the cleaner uses a water-wash process; solvent-based dry cleaning will damage the down. Confirm the bag is fully dried before use or storage.
Additional Care
Tip 1:
Use a sleeping bag liner and an outer cover to minimize dirt and extend the time between washes.
Tip 2:
When packing, feed the sleeping bag into its compression sack instead of rolling it.
Tip 3:
To maintain insulation performance, avoid washing too frequently — down’s natural oils, which support loft and water repellency, diminish with repeated laundering.
How to store it
For long-term storage, keep the sleeping bag in its large storage sack or hang it in a cool, dry place. Do not store it compressed for extended periods, as this will reduce loft and insulating efficiency. Always ensure the sleeping bag is completely dry before storage to prevent mold growth.

SYNTHETICS
Washing instructions
Step 1: Prepare
Machine wash at 40°C, ensuring all zippers are fully closed.
Step 2: Add detergent
Use a soap-based detergent or a small amount of mild liquid detergent. Do not use fabric softener.
Step 3: Tumble dry
After washing, tumble dry on low heat with two or three clean tennis balls, or hang/lay the sleeping bag flat to dry for one to two days. Synthetic sleeping bags may also be professionally dry cleaned.
Additional Care
Tip 1:
Use a sleeping bag liner and an external cover to reduce dirt buildup and extend time between washes.
Tip 2:
When packing, feed the sleeping bag loosely into its compression sack rather than rolling it.
Tip 3:
To preserve insulation performance, avoid excessive washing — synthetic fibers lose some of their silicone treatment with repeated laundering.
How to store it
For long-term storage, place the sleeping bag in its large storage sack rather than the compression bag, and keep it in a cool, dry area.
