Vassitjåkka is a mountain up in the very north of Sweden. It’s been around forever. There are no lifts here, and no prepared slopes. Just snow, ice and rocks. Sometimes it’s cold, dark and windy. Kiruna born, former Freeride World Tour qualifier, Sofie Gidlund grew up in close connection to the mountains, always with a big passion for the environment. Having lived and skied all over the world, Vassitjåkka and the surrounding peaks are still her favorites.
Freeride snowboarder and Winter X Games gold medalist Antti Autti shifted his focus and career towards the connection to nature, and towards riding as part of a bigger experience. Antti is not in a hurry. To him the walk up is as important as the ride down.
Freeskier Tom-Oliver Hedvall skied before he could walk, and he’s done it all. He’s gone on to compete in freestyle and freeride skiing around Europe and at the same time pursues unique climate-conscious adventures… still pulling dumb tricks at ridiculous speed though.
