With a design inspired by the functionality and tradition of our iconic TIGHT backpack, it offers practical organization options and great carrying comfort. It’s made from a DWR-treated ripstop in 100% recycled polyester. It has a form-fitting design with a wide adjustable strap that allows multiple carrying options. Organizational pockets, attachment points, and the roomy 3.5-liter main compartment hold the necessities and a little more—including a water bottle, small umbrella, and trail snacks.

The TIGHT TOTE 25 is a convertible tote bag for day trips and everyday adventures. With a design inspired by the functionality and tradition of our iconic TIGHT backpack, it offers practical organization options and great carrying comfort. It’s made from a DWR-treated ripstop in 100% recycled polyester and has an extra-reinforced bottom. Offering flexible carrying options, you can carry the tote bag in hand, over your shoulder, or use the stowaway shoulder straps to carry it on your back.

Inspired by the functionality and tradition of our iconic TIGHT backpack, it is designed to give you practical organization options for your gear and great carrying comfort. It’s made from a DWR-treated ripstop in 100% recycled polyester. Offering flexible carrying options, you can carry the duffle bag in hand or over the shoulder with the detachable and adjustable shoulder strap.

Lennart isn’t a traditionally educated designer, but rather a passionate user of outdoor gear. He started working at Haglöfs in the late 80s after answering a job ad for a product manager position.

Before the TIGHT™ Backpack came into being, Haglöfs primarily produced large backpacks with aluminum frames. The TIGHT™ Backpack was sprung from the idea to create something smaller that could be used for day trips, mountain biking, and freeskiing.

“At the time, all small daypacks looked the same: top loaded with two straps, and ergonomically imperfect—they would swing back and forth quite a lot,” recalls Lennart.

“We wanted to do something more modern, and came up with the idea to make it more drop-shaped with a lower center of gravity. We were also among the first to use anatomical straps that follow the curve of the body so it fits better, hugging the bag closer to your back.”

“I started making some sketches then worked directly at the factory to make some samples of the backpack to take back home. We had some guys who did mountain climbing and biking test the first prototypes and listened to their opinions. They loved how it hugged your back and you didn’t feel it even though it was packed full due to its lower center of gravity.”

In 1992, the first TIGHT™ Backpack was launched in three color-coded sizes, and it quickly sold out.
