I love everything outdoors; climbing, mountain biking, trail running, surfing, and cross-country skiing. Something especially close to my heart is fjällvandring. I grew up hiking to remote lakes high up in the mountains with my family, staying there for a few days, exploring the area, and fishing for trout.
Take life less seriously, care a little less about what doesn’t matter, and appreciate the small things more.
Tell us about your background. A general overview for people on the site to get to know who you are and how you ended up where you are today.
I grew up alpine skiing in Östersund, but I was always more drawn to going off trail. After a few years of studying law at university, I realised that my love for skiing and being outside was bigger than I thought. So I packed my bags and ended up in the Alps, where I discovered freeride skiing, climbing, biking and a whole new way of living. Now, five years later, I’m competing in freeride skiing and representing Sweden, while still finishing my law degree with a focus on environmental law. I’m trying to combine the mountain life with my studies and make space for both worlds.
Craziest adventure or experience so far?
I’ve done a few missions climbing the ridge of the Breithorn in Zermatt and some multipitch routes in the Verdon Gorge which have all been so amazing. But the craziest experience so far has been competing in the Freeride World Tour Championships.
It wasn’t just the competition itself, it was the mental experience. Being genuinely afraid, going through all the emotions, doubting myself, feeling the pressure and still choosing to stand at the top. Then dropping in and having the time of my life skiing down that mountain. That contrast is hard to describe, but it’s something I’ll never forget.
Bucket list or dream trip?
My biggest dream and goal is to go to Alaska one day and ski the steep, gnarly lines I’ve watched and imagined for years.
Why did you want to become a Haglöfs ambassador?
My first proper hiking backpack was a gift when I was seven; a Haglöfs pack. It’s been with me ever since. Haglöfs’ mentality and sustainability mission have always resonated with me.
I spend most of my year outside, so being able to rely on high-quality, thoughtfully designed gear means everything. And in a way, I’ve always felt like a bit of an outsider by nature – which might be why I feel most at home out there.
Favorite Haglöfs gear?
Right now it’s the Vassi Mid Hood Women. It’s definitely the best midlayer I’ve tried so far, and I wear it almost every day.
