Avoid fabric softeners, as they degrade the material’s moisture-wicking performance.

Base layer with wool 

Wool is naturally soil-repellent and requires fewer washes than synthetic equivalents. Most wool garments can be worn multiple times between washes — simply air them out and allow the fibers to rest, which helps maintain their resilience and elasticity.

Tip: Use wool-specific detergent

When laundering wool-blend base layers, follow the base-layer guidelines above but use a wool-specific detergent (preferably liquid), formulated with the appropriate pH and active ingredients for wool fibers.
