Background:
I have been a professional snowboarder since 2001. During my successful competitive career, I won two world championships and I am the first European gold medalist in the history of the Winter X Games superpipe competition. In 2010, I did something that many thought was special. While still at the top, I decided to stop competing and move on to freeriding. For me, snowboarding has always been a tool for finding a connection to nature and freedom where only imagination is the limit. While competing I started to lose that original connection that took me to the sport at first. In my freeriding career I have focused on producing inspiring film and video projects that have reached million of exposures in the world. In addition to film projects, I guide my own backcountry trips both in Finland and around the world. At the heart of my lifestyle is movement, through which I find a connection to nature. With my own work, I want to highlight the different possibilities of moving around in nature and encourage people to believe their own story because by through that you can also find a real understanding of your own actions and motivations.

Craziest adventure so far:
Maybe one of the most crazy experiences happened in Svalbard while I was there to ride some coastal mountains lines. In this one certain line we'd been looking at for a while we realized that to get there we'd have to cross this point in the shore that polar bears use as their migration route. On our first attempt to go there we saw a huge bear crossing the point and we'd have to pull out from attempt. We tracked the bear from far distance for a while and saw it go away so we decided to give it another ago. While on this time, we made it to climb and ride the line. But during this mission I heard from the radio that there was another bear in the same spot crossing while we were on the wall climbing the line. The run down after that was quite easy:) Lot of logistics and safety measures had to made to get an experience like that. But when you go out with a good and experienced group of people you can enjoy the outdoors in ways that are sometimes hard to imagine.

Bucket list / Dream trip:
I would like to do a lot sustainable descents in the north and bring out the diverse possibilities of the riding in the Arctic Circle.
