A: Schoppernau

 

H: What is your main sport?

A: Climbing & ski touring

 

H: Other key activities and hobbies? What do you do when you have some downtime?

A: I spend most of my free time in the mountains—either sport climbing on rock, alpine climbing, trail running, ski touring, or ice climbing. When I want to relax, I enjoy doing yoga or reading a good book.

H: Tell us about your background.

A: I grew up in a small village in the Alps (Arlberg) and have always loved the snow and the mountains. I have always enjoyed skiing, but have only been passionately pursuing mountain sports for the last four years. Climbing on rock, especially, gives me a sense of freedom that I have not found in any other activity, which has captivated me from the start. I am also an active member of the mountain rescue team, which helps me deepen my alpine knowledge and gain more confidence.

H: Craziest adventure or experience so far?

A: It's difficult to name one thing, but here are some unforgettable experiences that come to mind:

- Climbing on the walls of the Three Peaks

- Skiing with a view of the sea in the fjords of Iceland

- My first high-altitude tour on a 4,000-meter peak in Valais

- Bivouacking on a lonely glacier tongue in Iceland

- Ice climbing in the Swiss mountains

- Trad climbing on the needle of the Dillosauro in Sardinia

In general, the most beautiful moments I’ve experienced are the adventures or successes I’ve shared on the mountain with friends who share the same passion.

 

H: Bucket list or dream trip?

A: One goal for the winter would be to take a ski-and-sail trip in the fjords of Scandinavia or to explore the backcountry of Greenland with my skis. In the summer, I would like to climb the west ridge of one of my favorite mountains in the Swiss Alps, called “the Salbit” (Salbitschijen).

H: Why did you want to become a Haglöfs ambassador?

A: There are many reasons why I am an enthusiastic “Outsider by Nature,” including the innovative, stylish products that work for any sport in the mountains. Sustainability is also very important to me, and therefore, I can fully identify with this brand.
