Maria Granberg

Tell us about your background. A general overview for people on the site to get to know who you are and how you ended up where you are today. 
Born and raised in a small mining village named Persberg together with my parents and one older sister. Allround competitive athlete since five years of age that later on discovered high altitude mountaineering. Most known for becoming the second Swedish woman to climb the north face of Mt. Everest (4th to summit). An easily inspired person, incurably passionate about personal development and loves to find new ways to play around in the mountains. Educational background as a behavioral scientist, public speaker and mental coach. 

Craziest adventure or experience so far? 
Mt. Everest (north face) 

Bucket list or dream trip? 
Climbing an 8000+ peak without oxygen. 

Why did you want to become a Haglöfs ambassador? 

Haglöfs makes really great gear, which of course is a crucial factor when climbing in harsh conditions, but it was also obvious from the get go that we shared a genuine passion for the outdoors and for creating an inclusive community where everyone feels welcome. Their ambition to work as a team together with their athletes, when molding new projects and gear, was for me an important cornerstone and it’s truly been an inspirational ride to be a part of.
