Dressing the right way

The basics of layer-on-layer clothing are simple: the base layer is closest to your body and helps disperse perspiration from your body. Then, depending on the temperature and your activity, you add one or more thermal mid layers and finally, a shell layer to protect against the wind, rain and snow. The layer-on-layer principle has some major advantages. Not only will you dramatically enhance your comfort level, you will probably perform better since your garments work with instead of against you.

Base layer

Each layer in our layer-on-layer clothing collection has the same objective

namely to help your body maintain as even a body temperature as possible. What you wear closest to your body directly determines the effectiveness of the garment.

Mid layer

Thermal regulator

The mid layer is the real thermal regulator in this context with garments made of fabrics that effectively wick away moisture and have excellent capacity to trap air that keeps you warm.

Soft shell

Soft, comfortable and silent

Haglöf has an extensive Soft shell collection that includes three different series. One made of Windstopper® Soft shell, one made of Polartec® Power Shield® and one made of Haglöf’s own Soft shell fabric, FlexAble®.

Shell layer

Protects against wind, water and snow

The shell layer is the outermost garment in the layer-on-layer concept. It protects against wind, water and snow while simultaneously releasing just as much moisture as possible.

Insulation

The highest weight to warmth ratio

With most thermal layers you need a heavier fabric to stay warmer but by using lightweight synthetic fiber fill or down feather fill combined with ultra lightweight face fabrics you can get a greater amount of heat from a much lighter garment.
