ADVICE FOR A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP

Experience more, after a good sleep

You will be sure of a good night's sleep with the right sleeping bag, but there are different tips available for how you can maximize the chances of a good night’s sleep:

BEFORE:
Maintain a good fluid balance and keep energy stores filled when it is time to sleep, as it is harder for a dehydrated and hungry person to maintain their body temperature.

DURING SLEEP:
Use a good sleeping mat as much of the cold comes from the ground on which you are lying.

Sleep in a base layer if it is cold and put on socks, gloves and a hat. The clothes you’re wearing during the night should be made out of synthetic or wool materials. Synthetics and wool keeps you warm even if damp. Do not dry damp clothing in the sleeping bag.

Use a sleeping bag sheet, that increases the temperature level of the sleeping bag by a couple of degrees.

AFTER SLEEP:
Hang the bag up to ventilate all the moist out of the sleepingbag out after a good night’s sleep. Then you’ll have a dry sleeping bag for the next night.

PRE-HEAT YOURSELF
When you sleep outside during winter conditions, try to get your body temperature up before going to sleep. Do this by doing some light excercise. But don’t excercise too hard, you dont want to bring too much moisture into the sleeping bag. 

PRE-HEAT YOUR SLEEPING BAG
Another way to make your sleep more comfortable during winterconditions is to pre-heat your sleepingbag. Do this by heating up some water, pour it into an aluminum bottle and place it into the footbox of your sleeping bag 60 to 30 minutes before bedtime.
