MARCH 12-15, 2015

Come experience a genuine Swedish winter in Riksgränsen with us! We welcome you to Haglöfs Arctic Weekend, a weekend full of activities, lectures, inspiration and workshops. There will be mountain guides, professional skiers and adventurers who take you on excursions and activities such as steep skiing, ice climbing and avalanche training. The evenings are filled with inspiring talks and lectures with our Haglöfs friends.

You choose for yourself which activities to participate in. If you don't own the equipment needed for the activity you can rent it from the local sports shop. There will also be some equipment you can try out and borrow from Haglöfs and Gore. The activities are adapted to suit all of you who love snow, no matter how experienced you are. If you want to ski advanced off piste skiing you should join one of the groups led by our mountain guides and extreme skiers, but if you rather experience a less extreme side of the mountain you can build your own igloo, go on a nordic light safari on snowshoes or come on a tracked vehicle tour to Låktatjåkka mountain station where they serve some of the best waffles in Sweden.

16-18 Arctic Weekend is over for this time

To go ski touring with our Haglöfs friends is one of the most popular activities at Arctic Weekend. There are some amazing mountains to climb around Riksgränsen, and our summit excursions will be adapted for different levels of skiers. If you want to ski untouched powder on Vassitjåkka or if you just want to try walking with climbing skins, there will be suitable groups for you.

To be able to handle avalanche safety equipment and know how to avoid getting caught in an avalanche is essential knowledge for everyone skiing outside of the prepared ski areas. Professional mountain guides will hold this class for both beginners and advanced skiers. It also includes demonstration and testing of our Vojd backpack and the ABS system.

This is a good opportunity to try ice climbing, if you always wanted to try it. There will be professional mountain guides who can guide you and the equipment you need can be borrowed and rented in Riksgränsen.

Build your own igloo, with adventurer Ola Skinnarmo as your instructor. Ola has built a fair amount of igloos and he definitely knows what he is doing. At night you get to sleep in your igloo if you want to, and it is both warmer and cozier than you might expect.

Snowkiting in Riksgränsen is a very special experience and having kite instructor Simon Jaktlund as your guide makes it even more special. No matter the conditions, you are guaranteed to have a good time.

If you want to learn how to drop off cliffs or how to select the best line down a steep mountain side you should take the opportunity to spend a day on the mountain with our extreme skiers Lotten Rapp or Olof Larsson, who will share their best tips and tricks.
