SKIER AND MOUNTAIN GUIDE (UIAGM/IVBV/IFMGA)

Jørgen is one of the leading ski alpinists in Norway, with many first descents in Jotunheimen, Hemsedal and Nord Møre to his credit. In 2005 he was in Pakistan to ski on Laila Peak (6050 m) and from the top of Gasherbrum II (8035 m). During fall 2008 he was in Nepal with the aim to ski down Kangchenjunga (8586 m), the third highest mountain in the world. Due to enormous amounts of snow and bad weather, his attempt was stopped at 7000 m.

Jørgen has participated in freeride competitions all over Europe with good results. When he is not skiing, he is climbing, regardless of the season. He has contributed to several books about skiing and climbing. Together with Bjørn Kruse he published a climbing guide book, Hemsedal ICE, in fall 2012.

Jørgen has more than 15 years of experience as a ski and climbing guide and he is a certified international mountain guide (UIAGM). Jørgen lives in Hemsedal with his family where he runs his guide company; FJELLET KALLER.
